Wix is a platform for business persons. If you want to open your business online then Wix helps to create an online eCommerce website. You can add your products, create coupons and add checkout functionalities, etc on your website using Wix. They also provide free domain and hosting for their free users but if you want to do SEO of your website using Wix and rank your website in the search results of google, bing, and more search engines then you have to buy their monthly or annual plans because you can do SEO on your Wix only when you have a custom domain and Wix hosting instead of a free domain and hosting and more functionalities are there that you cannot use without buying their plans like adding payment methods such as credit cards or debit cards and cod (Cash on Delivery) on your website.

What are Shopify and its advantages and disadvantages?

Shopify is also a platform for business persons. It also helps to open your online store and provides all the basic features which Wix provides you but there is a difference that you can use it for free until you want to add checkout and SEO functionalities in your website but in Shopify, if you want to use it for free then you will only get 14 days free trial after that you have to buy one of their plans for using it and then you can access all its features on your eCommerce website.

But the three plans that they provide are - 

Basic Shopify Plan - Best for new eCommerce businesses with occasional in-person sales. It costs $29/month

Shopify Plan - Best for growing businesses selling online or in-store. It costs $79/month.

Advanced Shopify - Best for scaling businesses that require advanced reporting. It costs $299/month.

Should you use these services instead of hiring web developers?

I should say no because these services will cost you monthly for hosting your website and providing a domain and etc. But if you hire a web developer then he will cost you one time only and he will make your complete eCommerce website and make it dynamic too for 5000 or 7000 which is only a one-time-investment and he will provide you support whenever you will face issues on your site he will help you and solve it for free by himself only and even if he will charge, then also the charge fee will be low. So you can also hire them and they will also be a good option for your online business.

Conclusion:

I have compared both Shopify and Wix but I think that the better option will be Shopify because if you are running an eCommerce site then you will need a checkout feature on your website and you will have to pay for Wix for getting that feature but if you have pay only then the best option will be Shopify because it provides better features than Wix and will be a better option.
